Figure 9 contains the stream results from the simulation.

Answer

The amount of water that by-passes the heat exchangers is  approximately 55kpph.

Discussion

Even though streams 2, 9,20, 23, and 24 are considered to be negligible, for more precise modeling the actually conditions of these streams should be entered. The components of these stream include: air, N2 ,and the chemicals used. For a more precise model of the system, these components can be added to the list of components by going into the basis environment.

The numbers present in this example are not necessarily those found at the Cogeneration plant. For Example, the  pressure of stream 22 is 1 atm and not 50 atm.
